I chose Mic’s based on Yelp reviews (thanks guys!!) and the fact that they offered us the LOWEST price possible.. Out of 8 local moving companies that I contacted, Mic’s had the best price, hands down. Other companies were quoting us at $600-800 for a move from a 1-bedroom apartment into a 1-bedroom condo, which seemed ridiculous. Mic’s only charged us $435 for everything..there were no hidden fees, “base rate” costs, nothing. I have to admit, when 2 skinny, young guys pulled up with a U-Haul truck, I was a bit taken aback. However, they were amazing.. they worked incredibly hard, and they were enthuisastic and smiling and friendly the entire time. They also arrived early, and called when they were on their way. We asked them to do crazy things like hoist our heavy latex mattress up onto a loft, along with 2 dressers. They followed our instructions with no qualms, and everything arrived at the condo in perfect shape!! They moved us from a third floor walk-up with lengthy walk down the sidewalk in Silver Spring to a condo in Bowie in about 3.5 hours. It was amazing. My husband and I were VERY glad that we hired movers, and Mic’s, in particular. I would highly recommend them. By the way.. they do this for “fun” on weekends. And they are really damn good at it.
